SEND – Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
Our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Co-ordinator (SENDCo) is Mrs N. Hunt
Our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Governor is Mr J. Crompton
At Stoneygate Nursery School, we work together with our families, to meet the unique needs of each child whilst recognising the personal and emotional investment of our parents and families. We are committed to the equal inclusion of all pupils, and where children find learning more challenging than others, we offer extra support to enable them to achieve their potential. We assess all of our children in order to help us identify their strengths and needs and ascertain from this how we can best support them to flourish.
To achieve this we will:
Support families to recognise their children as individuals by drawing on their parental knowledge and experiences.
- Offer a service that welcomes all children and their families.
- Provide a positive and accessible environment that enables all children to enjoy and achieve.
- Build supportive relationships with families to enable information to be shared about the development of their children.
- Work with other agencies and providers, by sharing information to support the early identification of children’s additional needs, using Early Help where appropriate.
- Offer support and direction to families, to enable them to access additional services, resources and information for both themselves and their children, particularly at times of transition.
- Ensure that all Stoneygate Nursery school staff are kept up to date in their practice of how best to support children with additional needs and their families.
